Page Preview On OpenOffice Writer

How to use page preview on OpenOffice Writer?

In order you to print your document, you need to view before you printing the document. To view, click on the File menu and select Page Preview.



It will bring you to this kind of view which is a 50% of view layout. You may change the percentages if you wanted to. If you satisfied on your document, you can proceed to print or you may go back to the design view by closing the page preview. Click on the Close Preview.



OpenOffice provide you the icon on the Page Preview. Click on the icon and it will bring you to the Page Preview layout.

Instead on using mouse to select all on your openoffice writer, you may use the Edit menu to select all. Choose Select All or using command Ctrl+A.

On your writer document, your text should be replaced.

Save a file document on OpenOffice

Saving a file or document is a such very importing part that you have to know. You will loose all your information if you are not saving your document properly. To save a document, click on the File menu, and select Save. Save in to the specify folder/directory/path that you want it to save. Name it the file name and select the file type. Click Save button to proceed. You may use a command on your keyboard by typing Ctrl+S to save file.

Printing a document is the option that can be used to make it a hardcopy references. To print a document, click on the File menu and select Print. Specify your printer name, copies and print range that your want. You may use command on your keyboard by typing Ctrl+P.

View Full Screen On OpenOffice

View full screen on the open office is one of the option that you can use in the application. To view full screen, choose View and select Full Screen. This screen will appear on the Page Preview. To use a command, you may type Shift+Ctrl+J.

Open New File On OpenOfficeWriter

To open a new file on the open office writer, simple click on the File menu, select New and select Text Document. You may use a command shortcut on your keyboard by typing Ctrl+N button.

Click on the File menu and select Wizards. You may choose what template that you want to use. For examples, Letter.


For this example, i choose the letter design. You may select what type of letter that you want to be, for example they have choices like business, formal personal and personal letter. Click next.


You may select the items to be printed as below box.


Put your address as request on the box.


You may fill up the footer information as below. If you like to be numbered, just tick on the box.


Last but not least, click on the finish button to proceed with the templates.

Using Undo Command In OpenOffice

How to use undo command in OpenOffice?

Reverses the last command or the last entry you typed. To select the command that you want to reverse, click the arrow next to the Undo icon on the Standard bar.

To change the number of commands that you can undo, choose Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org - Memory, and enter a new value in the number of steps box.

Some commands (for example, editing Styles) cannot be undone.

You can cancel the Undo command by choosing Edit - Redo.

Installing OpenOffice On Windows Platform



To install openoffice, you need to download the OpenOffice pakackage installer from http://www.openoffice.org




Select the language that you want to install on your personal computer and save it the file.



Once you already downloaded the file, you can start with the installation. Extracting the .zip file.



Click on the setup.exe files to proceed installation.



The installation wizard will install openoffice on your personal computer. To proceed installation, click Next.



Accept the terms in the license agreement. Click Next to continue.



Fill up your user name and organization name on the box given. Click Next to continue.



Choose the setup type best suits your needs depending on your hard disk space. Click Next to continue installation.



You may set openoffice to be the default application for microsoft file types if you wanted to be. You just check on the box given and Click Next to continue installation.



Click Install to begin the installation. It might take some few minutes to install.



Congratulations!!! You successfully installed Openoffice on your personal computer. Click Finish to exit wizard. For the next lesson is how to use the Openoffice.
